DR. MICHAEL SPAIN
iNTERIM PASTOR
Dr. Michael Spain was born and raised in Milan, TN. He and his wife, Pettra, have four children: Landon and his wife Jasmyn, Abigail, Hannah, and Adrian. Landon serves in the US Air Force. Abigail attends Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR. Hannah attends MTSU in Murfreesboro, TN. Adrian is a junior at Milan High School.
Dr. Spain was ordained to the gospel ministry in 2002, at First Baptist Church Milan, his home church. Dr. Spain earned his BA in Biblical Studies from Union University in 2004. He and his family moved to Wake Forest, NC, in 2005, where he attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. From Southeastern he earned his M.Div. in 2009 and his Ph.D in 2016.
Dr. Spain has pastored churches in North Carolina and Tennessee, and has preached in numerous churches and settings during his ministry. Since moving back to Milan in 2013, and in addition to his preaching ministry, Dr. Spain has worked at Milan Middle School, and also serves as an Adjunct Professor for Union University and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Dr. Spain has a passion for preaching Christ from the Scriptures, and seeing God transform lives and local churches.

EMILY GLISSON
CHILDREN'S MINISTRY DIRECTOR
Emily grew up in a small southern baptist church the daughter of a deacon and music leader and a Sunday School teacher. At a young age, she realized the need of Jesus in her life and accepted him as her Lord and Savior. While Emily has no children of her own, she is thankful God called her to children's ministry so she has the opportunity to watch kids put all the pieces together and "get it". She rejoices when she hears of children going home and applying what they've learned in God's word to their daily life. One of her absolute favorite opportunities is VBS. Being able to minister to children through a week of dancing, singing, worshiping is her idea of FUN! In addition to children's ministry, she works as the attendance secretary at Milan High School. In her spare time, Emily enjoys watching football, listening to music, and spending time on the beach and on cruises.
